The first technical specialization school in Campania

It will be based in Grottaminarda, in the province of Avellino and it is co-financed also by PoEMA, of which Ecor International is part. It will propose a specialized training on mechatronics to introduce young people to the world of work able to support companies in Industry 4.0.

PoEMA, the network of companies of which Ecor International is part and that works to improve the efficiency of aircraft engines, has signed with a series of partners the constitutive deed of the “Fondazione Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Antonio Bruno” of Grottaminarda, in the province of Avellino.

This is the first step for the establishment of the first ITS of Campania, reserved for post-graduate technical specialization courses. The Higher Technical Institutes (ITS) constitute the first Italian experience of professionalizing tertiary training offer, successfully tested also in other European countries, whose purpose is to offer a specific training that interfaces with the needs and requirements of companies.

The ITS of Grottaminarda, which will be included in the context of the Country’s Technical Institute, will be dedicated to mechatronics, a field of study that integrates in a transversal way knowledge in the mechanical, electronic and IT fields. The aim is to guarantee specialist training to include in the labor market candidates able to support companies in Industry 4.0.

The course will focus on an experiential teaching methodology where learning will be possible through action and experimentation as well as tasks and roles faced in situations of actual complexity, similar to everyday working reality.

Thanks to the public notice issued by the Campania Region, the ITS of Grottaminarda, first classified by score and quality of the training proposal, can count on a public funding of 975 thousand euros and an additional private co-financing.

The agreement has been joined by the Institute of Higher Education of Grottaminarda, a partner promoter, the University of Salerno, the Confindustria Campania and Confindustria Salerno associations and other important local authorities and institutions and companies, including PoEMA.

These realities along with some multinationals and the University of Salerno will collaborate on the educational offer of the new Irpino Institute and will provide experiences and skills to identify the real needs of the students who want to attend the course, which is an alternative to University.

Ecor International supported the project in order to train special process technicians.

«With this project we intend to support the growth of the Aeronautical District in Avellino, where we have a productive unit operating within the Poema network, -explains Umberto Lucietto, CEO of Ecor International-. We look carefully at the school world and, after supporting the Salesian CFP in Schio, we also want with this initiative to promote the growth of a series of skills that can really be spent in the world of work. For us it is important to identify young people to be included in the company and in particular special process technicians but also experts and researchers in new production technologies».
