A solidarity gesture to support Nepal

Ecor Research employee promotes a fundraising campaign in the company to help the people struck by the earthquake.

The violent earthquake of magnitude 7.8 that involved Nepal in April caused thousands of deaths and extensive damage to the population, already living in poverty conditions.

An Ecor Research employee has been particularly impressed by what happened in this country.
His history is linked to Asian countries.  Indeed, twelve years ago, he decided to adopt with his wife a little Indian girl. Travelling to India, to be able to adopt her, he had the opportunity to visit the country, rich in contradictions and now he tells us his story.

“I travelled to India in 2005 to meet my daughter and last time two years ago with the intent to take her to see the country where she was born. I realized how much poverty there is and how severe are the conditions in which the population lives”.

His wife has also visited Nepal and in particular the capital Katmandu, close to the epicenter of the quake. This is why, knowing closely these territories, the welder proposes to Ecor Research to organize a fundraising campaign in aid of “International Adoption”, an association for distance adoption, operating in Nepal.

This organization was founded by a group of adoptive parents who believe in solidarity between peoples and in children rights, first and foremost the right of every child to live, grow up and be raised in a family.
For years, it has been committed in supporting initiatives not only for children living social hardships and disadvantages, but also of their families, through education, health and social programs.
These programs help to create the conditions allowing the child to continue to grow with his parents.

“International Adoption” promotes information activities and preparation for couples who want to adopt a foreign child, so that every abandoned child will soon find a family ready to welcome him, in a conscious and responsible way.

“I blindly trust this organization because it has a direct link with the poor countries and I know it closely because I have been a member since 2004. I think it is sufficient just a small contribution to help the people struck by the earthquake.”

In Ecor Research have been set up boxes where employees can offer a small contribution, depending on their will. The funds will then be paid to the bank account of “International Adoption” that will use them to support projects with their representatives in the capital.

“This initiative was born from what I saw with my own eyes, concluded the colleague. Since my association called for a fundraising, I decided to extend it within the company.
I trust in the sensitivity of the people who will give their contribution to this population.”
