For the second year in a row Ecor International is honored with a “Leonardo Award”, the prize given to the best Italian supplier of the company Leonardo. Leonardo manages some of the major international strategic programs and it’s also a technology partner of Governments, Defense Administrations, Institutions and companies.
The Vicenza-based company Ecor International stood out and was awarded in the Operational Excellence category among the suppliers of the LEAP program -Leonardo Empowering Advanced Partnership-.
Thanks to the LEAP program Leonardo is playing a role in driving and accelerating the growth of SMEs in the national ecosystem.
Ecor International crafts critical steel and special alloys components for aircrafts and complex systems.
The Italian supplier chain that refers to Leonardo represents 13 percent of the national High Tech industry, thanks to 10 billion euros of added value. It supports the employment of more than 125 thousand workers in total, including direct, indirect and induced. (Source: Leonardo)
Ecor International is the only award-winning company in Veneto region, selected among the Italian excellences in the Leonardo supply chain. The companies awarded are based in ten Italian regions, representing the productive fabric achieving excellence in our country.

At the awards cerimony, held in Rome last week, the awards were presented to suppliers to recognize their punctuality, quality, commitment to excellence and spirit of collaboration.
The event opened with a panel discussion in which Gian Piero Cutillo, Managing Director Leonardo Helicopters, Stefano Bortoli, head of Leonardo Aerostructures, and Franco Ongaro, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, explained the priority areas of innovation and those that will have the greatest impact for the supply chain in the future.
The meeting continued with other interesting talks by Giacinto Carullo – Chief Procurament & Supply Chain Officer and Paolo Rostirolla, VP Supplier Sustainability & Development. The meeting highlighted the progress of the last 18 months and the great prospects for growth in the sector.
The second part of the meeting was dedicated to awarding the 16 suppliers who excelled in four different categories of merit. Operational Excellence and Service Excellence awards recognize punctuality, quality, spirit of collaboration and commitment to excellence.
Sustainability Awards recognize achievements and commitment to sustainable development.
Since this edition of the awards, Vision for Growth award category has also been added to honor suppliers who have distinguished themselves by sharing the vision, dynamism and effectiveness in achieving the goals of the LEAP – Leonardo Empowering Advanced Partnership – program.
