Orientation course for the university students

Thirty students of the Product Innovation Engineering degree course and some students of the Design course of the University of Padova, from the Vicenza campus, visited Ecor International and its industrial research centre Il Sentiero International Campus this morning.

Thirty students of the Product Innovation Engineering degree course (University of Padova) and some students of the Economics and Design course (University of Verona), visited Ecor International and its industrial research centre Il Sentiero International Campus this morning.

The visit was part of the orientation program dedicated to the university students organized by Confindustria Vicenza, RIS Rete Innovazione Sostenibile and Vicenza Città Universitaria.

The students have been welcomed by Nicola Pozzan, Director – Engineering & Industrial Development of Il Sentiero International Campus, and involved in a presentation by Nicola Pornaro, Design & Prototypes Manager, on the topic of industrial research and technology at the service of product innovation.

The hospitality proceeded with the explanation of the dissertation on Mechanical Fatigue in Corrosive Environments held by Matteo Fontana, mechanical designer, who entered Il Sentiero with a university internship and continued with the preparation of his thesis before joining the engineering group of the research centre. To conclude, the students were also guided on a company tour of the 5 hubs that form Ecor International and the research centre.

Nicola Pornaro, Design & Prototypes Manager, who has been helping the collaboration between Il Sentiero International Campus and the degree course in Product Innovation Engineering, comments today’s visit as follows: “Having engineers get to know us during their studies is an added value for a campus dedicated to research. We provide our specialised skills and let researchers manage all the phases of their project themselves by placing the most innovative technologies at their disposal. We believe that innovation can originate from the applicated research.
